AETA4 — On February 19 and 20, 2009, four people, Nathan Pope, Adriana Stumpo, Joseph Buddenberg, and Maryam Khajavi, were arrested by the FBI and charged with violating the “Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act.” They are now facing a maximum of ten years in prison for their alleged crimes, which include attending demonstrations and other First-Amendment protected activity. They will need your support as they face a long trial process to prove their innocence.

AETA2 — William “BJ” Viehl and Alex Hall were arrested Thursday March 5th by the Joint Terrorism Task Force with the FBI. They were indicted by a grand jury and charged with 2 counts of violating the “Animals Enterprise Terrorism Act.” The first charge is for the alleged liberation of 600 mink from a mink farm in South Jordan, Utah. Resulting in over $50,000 dollars in damages. This felony charge can result in a maximum of 5 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine. The second charge is for the alleged “attempt” of a raid at a mink farm in Hyrum, Utah. This is a misdemeanor charge and can result in a maximum of 1 year in federal prison and a $100,000 dollar fine. Both Alex and BJ have pleaded not guilty to these charges, and are innocent until proven guilty.
